Beautiful sculpture in engraved slate made by the artist and sculptor, Vera Szekely. The sculpture is made with the Bas-Relief technique, which refers to the process of sculpting and etching onto a flat surface. Given that the etching is only 'low' and the carving only slightly raised from the surface, the technique gives a more subtle 3D effect.
