We are delighted to present La Martita, the first UK solo exhibition by Argentine artist Alejo Palacios. Trained as an industrial designer and now based in Barcelona, Palacios crafts minimalist compositions that explore the intersection of materiality, memory, and craft.
Palacios's work is deeply influenced by traditional processes and the inherent qualities of his materials. He often utilizes handmade paper and natural pigments, embracing the imperfections and textures that arise from these mediums. This approach reflects his belief that “traditional processes have such a clear and beautiful message that you just have to work with simple ideas to make them stand out.”
The exhibition showcases a series of new works that highlight Palacios’s commitment to simplicity and authenticity. Through layered forms and tactile surfaces, La Martita invites viewers to engage with the quiet beauty found in humble materials and deliberate craftsmanship.
