This rare Model 12398 table lamp exemplifies Angelo Lelii's innovative approach to lighting design and his fascination with movement, form, and functionality. As Arredoluce aptly observed, “One of Lelii's many inventions that plays with kinematics, drawing forms from art: even in the cutouts and shapes, the product is never banal.”
The design is composed of two curved enameled aluminum elements, finished in contrasting black and beige, which rotate independently to allow the user to adjust the amount of light escaping through the openings. This dynamic interplay between light and shadow creates soft, organic patterns, beautifully offsetting the precise geometry of the structure. The lamp is anchored by an elegant polished brass base with three gracefully splayed legs, lending the composition both visual lightness and sculptural refinement.
