Mirco Marchelli Italy, b. 1963
Rooted in the traditions of Arte Povera, Mirco’s work brings a sense of colour, light, and finesse often absent from the movement, favouring clarity and balance over severity. Before turning fully to visual art, he trained as a musician, and this early discipline continues to shape his practice, informing its sense of rhythm, pacing, and internal structure. Though a man of the north, his palette and geometric constructions evoke the warmth and sensuality of the south, drawing the viewer toward states of contemplation rather than austerity.
Mirco approaches art as a way of life rather than a single medium. His practice unfolds across materials with quiet assurance, guided by experience and an intuitive understanding that form requires time. From his earliest works to the present, he has followed a personal and coherent path, allowing the work to mature slowly. This sustained commitment has given his oeuvre a rare consistency, where evolution is subtle, assured, and grounded in conviction.
