We are pleased to present What We Hide, a joint exhibition featuring the works of Spanish artists Andrea Torres Balaguer and Xènia Fuentes. Both artists delve into themes of identity, concealment, and the unseen facets of the self through their distinctive photographic practices.
Andrea Torres Balaguer's work often explores the boundaries between reality and imagination, employing surreal imagery and obscured faces to evoke the subconscious. Her photographs invite viewers into dreamlike narratives where identity becomes fluid and enigmatic.
Xènia Fuentes, on the other hand, focuses on the intimate and the ephemeral. Her images capture fleeting moments and subtle gestures, emphasizing the delicate interplay between presence and absence. Through her lens, the ordinary becomes a space of introspection and hidden emotion.
Together, their works in What We Hide create a dialogue on the complexities of self-perception and the layers we choose to reveal or conceal. The exhibition invites audiences to reflect on the multifaceted nature of identity and the silent stories that reside beneath the surface.
